Our preschool is a ministry of Newport Covenant Church in Bellevue and is an arm of our Families & Formation Ministry. We’ve been around a long time, first opening our doors in 1984. The preschool provides quality early childhood education within a Christian framework. This year we offer 7 classes for 100 children served by 16 staff members.
At Newport Covenant Christian Preschool, we take great pride in offering a nurturing, high quality preschool program. We offer half day programs for pre-3’s through pre-Kindergarten, with additional “lunch bunch” and extended day options.
We focus on the spiritual, emotional, social, physical, and intellectual needs of the growing child.
Our learning environment provides a loving and nurturing staff.
We use a creative hands–on program, learning through play, age appropriate learning centers and activities, and recognition through a wide variety of learning styles.
We believe in teaching the whole child! Our students attend “specialists” each week like, gym, music and chapel.
We use bible-based learning activities, and large and small group socialization experiences.
We understand that we are all created and loved by God and we recognize the great value of each child and family.
********************************************************************Director's Letter to 2020-2021 Families (re: COVID Closure):
Dearest NCCP Families,
On behalf of the Newport Covenant Christian Preschool Board, Staff, and Newport Covenant Church, I write this letter to present to you our plan for the 2020-2021 school year. Asa mission of Newport Covenant Church, NCCP’s top priority is to provide a loving and safe environment for our students, families, teachers, and staff. After much prayer, deliberations, and discussions, we’ve made the difficult decision to close for the 2020-2021 school year.
Program and safety were our primary areas of consideration for reopening and each area was greatly impacted by COVID-19. However when we focus our love of our preschool, our teachers (the heart), our students (the beat) – the decision was clear. In addition, King County is still in Phase 2 of Safe Start and because we are not a daycare/childcare facility, we would not be able too pen to fully staff or offer our program until Phase 3, at earliest. We acknowledge that this creates a change in plans for everyone and wanted to share the decision as soon as possible.
Please email any questions or comments to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Followup FAQ email to be sent to families by August 1, 2020.)
As your director, I personally thank you for your patience, wisdom, and your trust and love for NCCP. All of us at NCCP miss our students and families terribly and can’t wait to be part of your family’s learning journey in the future.
May you be blessed with health, wisdom, peace, and love until we meet again,
Newport Covenant Christian Preschool
